Emma's going to be in a parade for the 4th of July!
To celebrate, I created a scrappy tutu and it was SUPER easy!
All you need is ...
2 yards each of red, white and blue tulle
1 yard each of four different fabrics
1 spool of red ribbon for the waist band
Scissors or rotary cutter
a chair
Coverable buttons (or just regular buttons)
Fabric die cutting machine (or flower cookie cutters to use as a pattern)
needle and thread
Measure your child's waist. Cut the ribbon long enough to leave space to tie in the back. Next, tie two knots where the skirt will meet. You'll attach all of the fabric strips and the tulle in this space!
Using your die cutting machine (I used my AccuQuilt Go!baby and my Sizzix Big Shot) cut out an assortment of flowers. If you are using flower cookie cutters, simply trace the flower on a piece of paper, then cut out. Use this as a pattern for your fabric flowers. Layer your flowers and attach a fabric covered button ...
